The Museum currently has seventeen aircraft on display both inside the museum building and in the outdoor display area.
We also have three aircraft in our restoration area, not currently on display.
Our Restoration Team is responsible for the restoration and maintenance of the historic aircraft located at the Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum. They are keenly aware of the many challenges faced with the upkeep of aircraft that are displayed out in the elements.
Most recently, the team completed an exterior restoration of the P-3 “Orion”, and the F-4 “Phantom”, and they are back on display at the museum. The team has temporarily removed the HUP-2 “Retriever” and the F-84 “Thunderstreak” and should return them to the museum in 2021. Our next goal is to begin the extensive restoration of the Chance-Vought F7U “Cutlass”.
