Twin-engine anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, mine detection and utility helicopter

Kaman SH-2G Sea Sprite

The Sea Sprite traces its origins to a prototype that first flew in July 1959, with fleet deliveries beginning in December 1962. The SH-2G is an all-weather helicopter capable of anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, mine detection, search and rescue, and general utility missions. With an endurance of up to five hours, it became known as the largest and most powerful helicopter able to operate from smaller Navy ships, a role it continued to fill for decades.
