Preserving aviation history
for future generations
“One of our goals is to preserve the history of local and global aviation achievements, including the early development of both winged and rotary flight … “
The words in quotes above are from the Museum’s statement of goals. One of the essential capabilities to achieve this goal is to have a Restoration Team that can literally transform a neglected, battered and rusting hulk into an aircraft that looks as it if just rolled off the production line!
You need people with creativity, imagination, tenacity and touches of genius. You need dedicated volunteers who are unafraid of hard work in tough working conditions.
You also need people who know that the aircraft part they need cannot be ordered from a catalog … they will have to make it themselves!
We at the Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum have such a team! Examples of their creativity, skills and dedication are all around; in the Museum building and out in the display yard! Visitors constantly tell us that our aircraft are among the best they have seen!
Do you want to become a part of this great team!? Are you willing to learn new skills? You can embark on the most rewarding experiences you can ever imagine!
