FJ4B FURY Article

The DVHAA’s FJ-4B is ID# 143568. Built in 1956, this aircraft served with Navy and Marine Corps squadrons including ones in California and Hawaii. The last of these planes entered naval service in 1958. Col. Sylvester Lapkewiecz, a member of the DVHAA, and also former Commanding Officer of VMF 218 at NAS Willow Grove, flew this plane.

This aircraft is currently under restoration. We have plans to return this aircraft to the display in the spring of 2016.

Please contact the museum if you have any information, comments, or recollections of the FJ-4B “Fury.”
